Super soft carpet in France – and friendly to our sea life too
October 5, 2021Many of us dream of owning our very own château one day.
For Andrew and Katie, this dream has come true – and they are the proud owners of Château de Siradan, situated in the middle of the beautiful Hautes Pyrénées and Haute Garonne.
Earlier this year we installed carpet in various parts of this magnificent 17th century château. It is one hour from Toulouse and hired out for weddings, private parties and corporate events as well as a B&B.
In the private accommodation area, we fitted Abingdon’s luxurious Satin Touch, a carpet with a soft and silky touch – and Stainfree.
Laying carpet in landings and stairways is always an interesting project, particularly when we are working in such a fine building as Château de Siradan. We laid Abingdon’s Royal Charter carpet for the runners edged with Easybind, with the stairrods made by Stairrods UK.
In the kitchen, Andrew and Katie chose Herringbone Autumn Oak LVT manufactured by Design Flooring. We needed to prepare and screed the floor first because it needed levelling, due to the modern flooring fitted underneath. It now looks fabulous.
We completed the project over three visits, the total fitting time taking around 7-8 days.
It is great to have the opportunity of working in historic places such as the Château de Siradan, and we wish Andrew and Katie every success with their venture.
