We moved to France in 2006 and we are happily settled in the Limousin. In that time we have travelled the length and breadth of the country discovering many beautiful and interesting places.
It is fair to say that the Alps are high on the list of our personal favourites as it is the ideal location for either a summer or winter break.
We particularly enjoy the area south of Lake Geneva. There are many pretty villages and attractive towns that are not overlooked by the impressive Alpine mountain ranges, which gives them a special character of their own.
We have stayed in Thonon-les-Bains in the Haute Savoie department a number of times, located on the shores of Lake Geneva with beaches, superb coastline and cooling waters. The restaurants are also really good!
Another favourite is Les Gets, which is a hugely popular ski resort. We have fitted carpet for many clients in Les Gets – and our team can testify having carried many rolls of carpet from our vans up to client’s apartments several floors up over the years. The town has a sizeable expat population and we know it well.
Carpet is of course the perfect material for keeping your house warm in winter on even the coldest of Alpine nights. However, it will keep your home cool in the summer too, providing a natural form of insulation.
