Return to the Château de Saint-Aignan 

During April we went back to fit carpet in a château that I first visited around 12 years ago – the Château de Saint-Aignan.

Located in the picturesque Gers department of South West France, the 18^th century château is an impressive building and nearby to La Romieu, one of Most Beautiful Villages in France – and with a history dating back a thousand years.

Recently, ownership of the château changed hands and we were delighted to have the opportunity of a return trip. It has five bedrooms and its’ own chapel – as well as a swimming pool and tennis court. Unfortunately we neither had the time to swim or to play!

The client and his wife contacted us to help with the first part of their renovation project, to make the chateau into a family home.

We fitted a pure white/off white carpet – Ermine – from Associated Weavers’ iSense® Carpet range called Suspense. The carpet is luxurious and comfy – a perfect choice as you would expect for a château! However it’s a great carpet for all types of property too…

The carpet was installed in two bedrooms, one of which is also a nursery for the couple’s young baby. We think it looks really stylish and is ideal for this family home.

As I mentioned, this is part one of the renovation – and we are looking forward to going back again soon to fit carpet for the next phase.
