Meet Joel: my son, and the newest member of our carpet team

Last year, my son Joel started working with me full-time. We are now a real father-and-son company!  I am really proud to have Joel on board.

We have been extremely busy travelling to carpet and flooring jobs across France recently, so we have had plenty of chance to chat. I thought that I would share some of Joel’s thoughts and ambitions for this exciting period in this young man’s life.

Joel has said that one of his earliest memories is of me talking about carpet; that passion is clearly continuing into the next generation…

It is fair to say that Joel loves getting away with the fitters and visiting the country for jobs. We travel thousands of kilometres each year, giving him plenty of opportunity!

Of course, Joel is in training and getting first-hand experience, working with our various fitters. What has interested him is that every fitter uses different methods, drawing on their extensive and distinctive expertise.

Joel is gaining valuable knowledge working with a wide range of carpets, and recently we fitted Roger Oates runners as well as other vinyl and natural carpets. It is all sound experience that I know will stand Joel well in the future.

Finally, Joel has always had an ambition of becoming a racing driver.. and loves Monaco. Perhaps we can combine the two someday with a carpet job to the principality…
