Fitting carpets ….on a stairway to heaven

One of the songs I remember well from my younger days was Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven… it’s a great tune and a personal favourite.

The music and lyrics came to mind recently when we were out on a job fitting carpet – laying Noble Saxony from Balta carpet around the circular opening of a beautiful metal spiral staircase.

Made in Italy, this stunning set of steps was a great challenge – carpeting the stairway to heaven, you could say! 😊

Over recent weeks, we have had a number of other interesting projects.

You could probably hear the roar of the jungle when we visited one of our clients a few weeks ago to lay Axminster carpet from Hugh Mackay’s Safari collection…

Hugh Mackay’s Safari range is available in 3 luxury animal print patterns, including Leopard print, Zebra print and Ocelot print. It’s a superb, top quality carpet to work with – 80% Wool, 20% Nylon – and it’s fun as well as eye catching. We fitted a Leopard print carpet onto a small modern staircase to access a conversion, with another room supplied with the Ocelot print.

Finally, stripes were the order of the day for another recent job. The client wanted a straight stair runner, choosing Brockway carpet’s Rosso strong red stripes from its Portofino collection.

Three different projects: reflecting the wonderful diversity of colour, patterns and design that carpets can provide in the home.
