Carpeting in Camon, La Petite Carcassonne

Camon is a medieval, fortified village in the Ariège known locally as ‘La Petite Carcassonne’. One of the things I love about my work is the chance to visit places of interest such as Camon, and earlier this year we fitted carpet in a delightful, characterful house there.

The charming village of Camon has many really narrow streets and buildings, and in reality it has not changed much over many hundreds of years! It’s always great to see examples of places in France which have retained their history and heritage.

I visited Brett in his home in Camon a few months ago, the property located in the old part of town. Brett moved to France from the UAE and is now settled in his beautiful home. The property is a three storey and very narrow house, with a kitchen on the ground floor, a flight of stairs connecting to a lounge and more stairs leading up to the third floor and bedroom.

We laid Sisal natural flooring carpet in the lounge and on the stairs, fitting Dorado super soft carpet in the bedroom. Sisal is extremely versatile, durable and is made from natural fibres, available in a variety of different patterns. It is ideal for living rooms, halls and as stair carpet.

Dorado super soft carpet comes in a wide range of colours and is a great carpet as well as being hardwearing.  As you can see from the photos, the carpet looks stunning in Brett’s home – don’t you agree?
