July 9, 2021Last month we travelled south for a carpet fitting job in the tiny principality of Andorra.
This country is located between France and Spain high in the Pyréneés mountains, famous for its ski-ing – and duty free shopping. As you would expect, Andorra has a small population; only 80,000 people live there. The official language is Catalan due to its position neighbouring the Spanish region of Catalonia.
Of course, Joel and I did not have time to do any (much!) shopping… we had work to do! Fitting a carpet for a family whose apartment renovation had just been completed.
Over the years, I have travelled literally hundreds of thousands of kilometres up and down the length of France – and in fact, I have previously visited Andorra; but probably only about half a dozen times.
However, my last visit was a couple of years ago, so it was exciting to go again along with Joel who has only been once before.
The work involved laying carpet on the stairs, hallways and in various rooms. The property itself has some great views looking out to the hills.
We loved our visit to Andorra. It was only for a couple of days but it was great to explore with Joel another part of this beautiful continent, and chalk up a few extra kilometres on the van….

We have four double bedrooms and a landing in our chalet in Chatel and would like to replace the fitted carpet. It is a family holiday chalet so we would not wish to spend a high price but I wondered if you could give us a rough idea of costs for a fairly hardwearing carpet. I appreciate that delivery in the mountains is difficult sometimes but our chalet is very easily accessed by road it being on the Route de Pre la Joux. We would really appreciate your assistance. Thank you.
